Why use the Convert Now resize image online

Social media presets

Instagram post and story, YouTube thumbnail, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest – one click.

Exact pixels or %

Type a width, a height or both; or scale by percentage.

Batch resize

Resize up to 100 photos to the same size in one go.

High-quality scaling

Smooth, sharp downscaling with no jagged edges.

Resizing without distortion

With Keep aspect ratio on, entering only a width computes the matching height automatically (and vice versa), so people and products keep their proportions. Presets use a smart cover-and-crop: the image is scaled to fill the preset dimensions and any overflow is trimmed evenly from the edges, which is exactly how Instagram and YouTube would crop it anyway.

Resize vs compress

Resizing changes how many pixels an image has; compressing changes how efficiently those pixels are stored. If you need to meet a pixel dimension (‘max 1920 px wide’), resize. If you need to meet a file size (‘max 200 KB’), use the Compress tool, which can also shrink dimensions automatically when needed. Doing both – resize first, then compress – gives the smallest files.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image without losing quality?

Downsizing keeps images sharp. Avoid enlarging beyond the original size, choose PNG or quality 90+ JPG output, and resize from the original rather than an already-resized copy.

What size should an Instagram post be?

1080×1080 for square, 1080×1350 for portrait and 1080×1920 for stories and reels. All three are available as presets.

Can I resize an image to a specific KB size?

Use the Compress tool and enter a target in KB – it adjusts both quality and dimensions to hit the number.

Can I resize multiple images at once?

Yes, up to 100 per batch with a ZIP download.

Does it work with HEIC or SVG?

Yes. HEIC photos from iPhone and SVG vector files are both supported as input.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Resizing happens in your browser.
