About Convert Now
Convert Now is a collection of free file tools – image converters, compressors and resizers, PDF converters, and video and audio tools – that run entirely inside your web browser. No uploads, no accounts, no watermarks.
Why we built it
Every day, millions of people search for simple tasks like “HEIC to JPG”, “compress image to 100 KB” or “PDF to JPG”. Most of the sites that answer those searches upload your file to a server, process it, and keep a copy – sometimes for days. That is a poor deal for something as routine as converting a photo, and a serious problem when the file is a passport scan or a contract.
Modern browsers can decode and encode images, render PDFs and even run FFmpeg through WebAssembly. Convert Now uses those capabilities so that the conversion happens on your device. It is faster, it works offline once the page has loaded, and there is nothing for us to store, leak or sell.
Who is behind it
Convert Now is built and maintained by Faizan Ali, a digital marketing and technical SEO specialist who has spent years optimising images and media for websites – and got tired of tools that made that harder than it needs to be. The tools are built with open-source libraries including pdf.js, pdf-lib, libheif and ffmpeg.wasm.
