Trim a photo to exactly the part you want. Drag the crop box, resize it from the corner, and lock it to a ratio for profile pictures, Instagram posts, YouTube thumbnails or stories. The crop is applied at full original resolution, so nothing is downscaled.

Why use the Convert Now crop image online
Aspect ratio lock
Square, 4:3, 16:9, 4:5, 9:16 and 3:2 presets keep your crop platform-ready.
Full resolution
The crop is cut from the original pixels, not a preview.
Touch friendly
Works with a finger on phones and tablets.
Private
The photo never leaves your device.
Cropping for profiles and social platforms
Profile photos are displayed square or circular almost everywhere, so a 1:1 crop centred on the face is the safest choice. Instagram feed posts look best at 4:5 (portrait) because they take up the most screen space, stories and reels are 9:16, and YouTube thumbnails, banners and video covers are 16:9. Lock the ratio first, then move the box so the subject sits where you want it.
Cropping vs resizing
Cropping removes part of the picture; resizing scales the whole picture. If the composition is right but the file is too big, resize instead. If you need to remove distractions from the edges or change the shape of the photo, crop – and if you need both, crop first, then resize the result.

Frequently asked questions
How do I crop a picture into a square?
Add the image, choose 1:1 Square in the Aspect ratio dropdown, position the box and click Crop.
Can I crop to exact pixel dimensions?
Crop to the ratio you need, then run the result through the Resize tool for an exact pixel size.
Can I crop a circle?
The crop is rectangular; most platforms apply the circular mask themselves. Crop to 1:1 and they will display it as a circle.
Does cropping reduce quality?
No. Cropping only removes pixels outside the box; the remaining pixels are untouched.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Drag the box with your finger and pull the corner handle to resize.
